Hello, my name is Sailauna Scott-Madison, you can call me Sai. I am a professional makeup artist and photographer.
From a young age, I had a passion for helping people enhance their beauty and boost their confidence. During my childhood, I even took care of my dad’s pedicures and manicures while he was battling lung cancer. As I grew older, I began doing makeup and nails for family and friends during special events, using magazines as a reference for makeup techniques. Recognizing my talent, my mom encouraged me to turn my skills into a profession.
To support my college education, I started working at a nail salon. However, my interest in makeup and photography grew as I started doing photo shoots with local photographers while pursuing modeling on the side. One particular photographer, Clatties Moorer, became my mentor and taught me the art of makeup for black and white film. He even allowed me to assist him during shoots, which deepened my understanding of lighting and makeup techniques.
Word of mouth spread about my skills, and my coworkers at the salon often referred clients to me for makeup applications. Jackie, a colleague, referred me to a magazine called Hairweb.com, which was seeking makeup artists for local shoots. This opportunity allowed me to create my first portfolio, which included seven tear sheets from various magazines. Subsequently, I landed a freelance job with M.A.C Cosmetics, which propelled my makeup career to new heights. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working and training with renowned international cosmetic companies such as Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Laura Mercier, and collaborating with many professional photographers. I have also had the honor of working with celebrities like Alicia Keys, Queen Noor of Jordan, Zac Posen, and Montel Jordan. Additionally, I have contributed to sets and runway shows such as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Oscar de la Renta, and Saks Fifth Avenue Fashion Show.
In 2015, during my 10-year wedding anniversary vacation, I jokingly told my husband that I would retire as a photographer. However, this lighthearted remark sparked an idea in me. Why wait to combine my passions? That day marked the beginning of my rebranding journey to create a multi-service company that uplifts and empowers individuals. My ultimate goal is to help people feel comfortable, confident, and ready to conquer any challenge that comes their way. Allow me to assist you in rebranding yourself and embracing your true potential.
